A Little about meI became very interested in art at a young age, starting with basic crafts and making my way into acrylics and other medias. It wasn't until middle school when I really started getting into 2D media. Since graduating from your basic required art classes, I took two years of additional art classes and a semester of woodshop in 8th grade. Once in high school, I took intro to art, photography, ceramics, watercolors & acrylics, drawing, and advanced painting. Throughout high school I was also very interested in science and math, particularly trigonometry and chemistry. With these interests in mind, I considered a degree in environmental science, pharmacy, chemical engineering, and architecture. To further my education, I eventually (and spontaneously I might add) accepted a spot into Miami University of Ohio to fulfill an undergraduate degree in architecture. |

Why architecture?
I didn’t know I wanted to study architecture until the day I got my acceptance letter from Miami. I know this may seem misguided and a little crazy, but a year and a half in and the thought of regret has never once slipped my mind. I knew a part of me was always interested in the major ever since I can remember, but it wasn’t until I entered this program that I really realized why.
I am insanely fascinated by big cities, old historic districts, and everything inbetween. I am a huge contender of staring out windows on car rides and of almost running into things due to looking to the sky instead of what’s in front of me. I have the most curious and appreciative mind when it comes to design. But these thoughts weren’t enough to make me study something for six years and call it my life. I chose architecture because I am a lover of the arts. I am a sideartist of acrylic paintings, I never missed an art class opportunity in high school, and if I just hear the phrase “arts and crafts” my heart goes into a flutter. Since the second I could hold a pencil in my hand my life was forever changed, and it was this love and passion that guided me into where I am today. Art wasn’t just something that came natural to me, it was something I both loved and adored, and strived to be better at.
