Rewritten HistoryImage Source
Teen party in Tulsa, OK, circa 1947 |
In the beginning, I found it very challenging to find a photo. I believe I had come across this one on Twitter, but had possibly seen it on Google/ Flicker when doing my research. My photo contained almost no background information so I used the caption to look up colleges in the area, popular names at the time, popular music, and my own imagination to rewrite the history. When creating the photo, I found placing my face onto someone else's was fairly easy to do. Although, merging the ends of my face to the photo was challenging. I used a lot of smudging, smearing, blurring, and dodge/burn effects to try to get the picture to look realistic. I had to worry about correcting color along with getting my face to be proportioned correctly. I had also added noise to it to create the old fashioned grainy effect that can be seen in the original picture but not my selfie (for which I had to research this trick). Overall, I found the assignment fun to complete. I feel as if I did not do terribly for the lack of skills I possess, and hope this project helps me in terms of future assignments.

Reconstruction DeconstructionPrompt
Deconstruct the photo of an object and decontextualize the parts of the object to create an interesting, abstract composition. Design Strategies
For this assignment I found an image of a pineapple and recreated it using various images of drawn and realistic pineapples. Afterwards I filled the background with a neutral color found in the images along with pineapple quotes. |
Vector illustration I have chosen this insect as my vector illustration because I find inchworms to be very cute and fun. I then used the insect to make multiple layers of vector sections that all combined into one artwork. I started with outlining the entire worm, then main sections, and then important details. I believe my project turned out rather well and I am excited to further my vector illustration skills.

Iconic PortraitI decided to do the cover of the movie Moulin Rouge because it is my favorite movie to ever exist. I bent the rules a little when it comes to an iconic figure, so I decided to do both Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor. I found this project to me a little challenging because I originally wanted to cut text out of the illustration I had traced. Although I had to form the picture with text instead, I think it turned out to be a great project. I used only quotes and songs from the movie and although time consuming, the project was very delightful to make.
FUN FACT
This single artwork made me my first $100 on Redbubble! Until it was taken down due to copyrights.. But the sticker is still alive and well on my laptop and the art piece is still original and one of my favorite pieces in my mind |
Personal Branding LogoLook familiar?
YOU BETCHA For our last digital tools project we were to brand ourselves. Given my obsession with pineapples and gold glitter this beauty was created. Hence forth my branding, my icon, and the premise of my website name. Got a passion for art and pineapples what can I say.
