Mini zineObjective
Using the techniques you learned in class, make a 12-page prototype zine that you can give away as a gift. Design
For my zine I wanted to capture the progression I had made from my high school art into architecture. The progression includes AIAS firm crawls in which I saw some buildings I learned about in history and transitions my time in Europe; Where both my passion or art and my studies were intertwined. |
Wake Up Maggie(Zine)For our group magazine we proposed a "Teen Zeen." My two group mates and myself each had our own focus (rap music, juicing, and technology) along with ads and promotions and combined them into a magazine meant for the teen age group. We focused on pops of color in which each article had it's own palette (mine was orange/yellow obviously). In total I had a lot of fun designing my spreads covering juicing.

The little fishyAs an introduction to Adobe XD we were to come up with a proposal for a food truck in Cincinnati and design an app prototype in full for it. For my design I chose a sushi food truck (my love for sushi is endless) in which I illustrated my own graphics and logo. I also edited the map to make it more illustrative and developed my own rolls. In total I loved this project. I had so much fun playing in illustrator to create my images and not only do I love the graphics themselves but they were a very impressive aspect to my design as well. And fun fact, all sushi stickers can be found on Redbubble! ~Self promo time~

The chili hutAs our main XD project we were to develop an app for a known food truck, The Chili Hit, in Cincinnati. This project was a lot more intense for it involved a real client and a set menu. Despite the fears it was super fun to redesign the client's theme into something new. I chose to focus my design on the symbol of cheese (since chili dogs are 90% cheese anyways..) and build my design off that. Like my sushi app I illustrated my own graphics for this project as well as my own headline font (which was the worst and best decision!). Overall I think my app both tested and benefited my skills in both illustrator and XD. I loved branding for a real client and cannot wait for the next opportunity to do so.
